Joyce Sims R.I.E.P 6th August 1959 – 14 Oct 2022 . Date Posted: 19 October 2022

Deeply saddened on hearing the news like everyone else of the passing of the great hit maker #joycesims (15th Oct 2022) who gave so many of us joy through her gold selling debut Come into my life. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this time.
The world we live in today moves so fast. I woke up this morning to WhatsApp messages expressing condolences. I looked online to reference and read the shocking news and social media was awash with tributes.
I had the privilege of working with Joyce for over a decade and in that time we covered much ground. London multiple times, Manchester, Birmimgham, Leicester, Brighton. Pubs, clubs, music venues and even weddings! So many memories. Joyce was a wonderful spirit, always smiling, quietly spoken, shy and engaging. She was a joy to be in the company of. No off days.
This picture was taken on the 26th August 2022. We squeezed in a rehearsal ahead of shows in Manchester and London. So to say I’m shocked is an understatement. Our dates went smooth. No issues.
One of the things I appreciated about Joyce was the fact her and Errol never forgot me. I’m not sure why, but like many of the acts I’ve worked with, nobody was taking a chance on her which I couldn’t understand. I reached out to her in 2011 and we never looked back. She returned every year since that date, sometimes with different promoters but every-time they were here they would always say “hey how are you”. This is a rarity and I can’t speak highly enough of Joyce. A truly beautiful soul, outside and in.
My soul sister. Gone but never forgotten. 💔💔
