Everything and everyone grows. Chrisette Michele is no exception. A veteran at the grizzled age of 29, and on the cusps of her 4th album, Chrisette has found that middle ground. In 2007 she released the critically lauded I am, which fetched Chrisette her first Grammy for the song “Be Ok”. The commercial success of “Epiphany” (which debuted at #1 on Sound Scan) began her relationship with Ne-­‐Yo and Chuck Harmony.
On the subject of vocals, Chrisette’s have been blanketing the radio dial alongside Rick Ross and Drake on the massive “Aston Martin Music”, from the MMG boss man’s mega-­‐album Teflon Don.
Let Freedom Reign, is charged throughout, a blissful marriage of fiery spirit and an artful musicality. There’s no inert filler. Listeners will find everything from the quirky, “I’m Your Life” to the high octane to the shared metal thunder of “Goodbye Game”. Her musical partner and friend Chuck Harmony produced the entire album.
Chrisette’s fourth album is set for release Spring 2013. She created a team called “The Rich Hipsters”, who will create and consult with Chrisette on every aspect of this album. She, and those blessed enough to be working on this album at Motown believe this could be her best work to date! The highly anticipated release is simply titled, BETTER.
Not one to sit still with overflowing creativity and passion for her craft, Chrisette is cooking up a mixtape inspired by one of her personal inspirations – movie & style icon Audrey Hepburn. When asked, “Why Audrey?” – the songbird’s answered simply, “Audrey is the ultimate lady, I find that in this day and age such grace and femininity should be exemplified.” Audrey the Mixtape: An Audiovisual Presentation will be available online as a free download via SWAGSHAQ.com starting December 8th. So far, this project has already birthed popular songs such as Charades” (feat. 2 Chainz), “Rich Hipster” (feat. Wale) and “Fair Lady” (feat. Guitar Slayer). Other features include Bilal & Robert Glasper.
Chrisette will be doing shows in European cities where Audrey spent a portion of her life (tour includes stops in Amsterdam, London, Paris & Berlin).
